SPCK is a UK registered charity (number 231144). It is incorporated under a Royal Charter granted in 1969. Our Patron is Her Majesty the Queen. The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Revd and Rt Hon Dr Rowan Williams, is President of the Society.
As a "voluntary society", SPCK has subscribing members who elect a Governing Body of trustees from amongst their number. In addition the Governing Body may co-opt up to six Vice-Presidents of the Society. Vice-Presidents are elected at Annual General Meetings of the Society, but any Anglican bishop who is a subscribing member is ex officio a Vice-President of SPCK.

The Governing Body determines and oversees the implementation of the Society's objectives and policies, working through its chief executive, the General Secretary.
