Saying Grace

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
and the love of God,
and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
be with us all, evermore. Amen.

2 Corinthians 13:14

Jesus, thank you for loving us
and providing food, shelter, and one another.
Every moment of our lives is a gift
and we appreciate all the time you have given us.
Thank you for all our good fortune.
Amen.

God of unity,
you call us round your table
and we meet you in the breaking of bread.
May the hospitality we enjoy
draw us into a deeper fellowship
with one another and with you.
Give us thankful hearts for all your goodness,
and may we show those thanks in lives of humble service;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Christmas Graces

O God, our Father,
as we remember the birth of your Son, Jesus Christ,
we welcome him with gladness as Saviour
and pray that there may always be room for him
in our hearts and in our homes;
for his sake.
Amen

Let us thank God for Christmas.
For this happy and exciting time of the year,
    thank you, loving Father.
For the Christmas trees and decorations,
    thank you, loving Father.
For cards and presents and good food,
    thank you, loving Father.
For fun with family and friends,
    thank you, loving Father.
For singing carols and listening to the Christmas story,
    thank you, loving Father.
For all these things
because we have them to remind us of the coming of Jesus,
    thank you, loving Father.

Christ, in whose name we celebrate this season
with hospitality, joy and music,
bless all who gather round tables this night
to share of your goodness.
We thank you for the gifts we enjoy
to sustain us in body and relationships,
charity and hope.
May we show the generosity of your bounty
in lives of grace and truth,
to the honour of your holy name,
now and for ever. Amen.

Thanksgiving

O most merciful Father,
who hast blessed the labours of the husbandman
and given unto us the fruits of the earth in their season:
We give thee humble and hearty thanks for this
        thy bounty;
and we beseech thee to continue this thy
        loving-kindness toward us,
that year by year, our land may yield her increase,
to thy glory and our comfort;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

American Prayer book 1792, when there was appointed ‘A Day of Thanksgiving to Almighty God, for the fruits of the Earth, and all other blessings of his merciful providence'.

Birthdays

Jesus, we know that you had birthdays just like us.
We don't know if you had special food or parties
but we do know you liked nice food
and you used to go to parties,
So we invite you to be at this party
and bless us as we are sharing the fun
and the food
and the presents.
Amen.
