Work-life Balance and the Rule of Life

The Benedictine way of life and of prayer was given wide exposure through the TV programme The Monastery, and this involves a basic ‘Rule of life.' Those who are into work-life balance will recognise this as organising your life and how you spend your time to ensure you have quiet as well as busy times, work as well as rest. The Benedictines make a point of including time for prayer and contemplation, work and leisure, in each day. So, as you can see, it's a healthy and modern concept, coming from many years ago (perhaps like all the best ideas!)
